Our foods are top quality and suitable for any dietary requirements, with superior fresh ingredients and reasonably sourced fish.

Owner Aaron Cheng got the idea for Yum Poke from a restaurant in California two years ago. The food was fresh, healthy, fast and affordable. Cheng was a sushi chef in Manhattan, NY for 5 years before moving to the South, and when he was introduced to poke on that trip to California, he decided that the people of Asheville needed something similar.

Before you dive into it, we pride ourselves to inform you a little about the roots of Poké. Having gained popularity dated back to the 1970’s, it is a traditional Hawaiian snack. In modern days, Poké flavor and seasonings have altered through the heavy influence of Japanese and other Asian cuisines. “Poké” is Hawaiian for “to cut into crosswise pieces,” which can be represented through the pieces of raw fish in the dishes. The original Poké consists of cubed raw fish, whose origins lead to the name and title of these plates.
